The original house was built in 1890 with the Summer House- now The Panelled Room adjoining the restaurant- being built to house Sir Greville Smythe*s collection of botanical and ornithological specimens. Developed into the Ashton Court Country Club in 1950- at this time it was the largest country club in the country. Over the years it has expanded into a relaxing destination where business really can be a pleasure.
